Printer is an output device, it is used to make a hard copy of the computer's data. The keyboard is the only device that is used most often, followed by the mouse. Printers are used to print signs, office documents at office, house and business establishments.
Usually the printer is connected to a computer with a data cable and when you give Ctrl + P command from any application, it gives you the print. But with modern printers new technologies are used. Wireless printing is the main one. the printer is connected to Wi-Fi and the cloud. From which you can command the printer while sitting away. With cloud technology, you can also command the printer from mobile and remove the print.
Types of Printer
- 3D printer
- AIO Printer
- Dot Matrix printer
- Laser Printer
- Inkjet / Deskjet printer
- Thermal Printer
- LED printer
- Plotters Printer
3D printer
3D printer is created by Chuck Hull in 1984, the 3D printer is a device that creates a physical object from a digital model by layering materials. 3D printers use materials such as metal alloys, polymers, plastics, and food ingredients
Application of 3D printer
3D printers are used in many fields, such as aerospace engineering, dentistry, archaeology, biotechnology, and information systems. 3D printer might be used in the field of archaeology to physically reconstruct ancient artifacts that have been damaged over time.
AIO Printer
AIO is referred to as a MFP (multifunction printer), AIO is short for All-in-One. AIO defines a hardware device such as an All-in-One printer that is a printer, fax, and scanner all in one device. The picture is an example of a Vivo All-in-One printer that is a fax, laser printer, sheetfed scanner, and flatbed scanner.
Advantages of All-in-One(AIO)
- Take less desk space and room by combining multiple devices (e.g., fax, printer, scanner) into one device.
- Less cords. The printer and the scanner are one device the All-In-One only requires one power cord and usually one data cable (e.g., USB).
Dot Matrix
This printer is rarely used today. But this printer is being used in some of the shops and especially in the bank.Laser Printer
This printer is the most commonly used printer professionally. It comes in both black and white and color printers. The laser printer was first developed at Xerox PARC by Gary Stark weather and released in 1971 that utilizes laser technology to print images on the paper.Laser printers are always used for corporate fields, school, and other environments that require print jobs to be completed quickly and in large quantities.
HP Laserjet printer |
Inkjet / Deskjet
This printer is mostly used in homes due to its cheap. Wet colors are used in this. The popular printer for home computer users that prints by spraying streams of quick-drying ink on paper. Ink is stored in disposable ink cartridges, and always a separate cartridge is used for each of the major colors. Colors are CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black).Thermal Printer
This printer is used for billing in malls, restaurants etc. It does not require ink.Thermal printer is a printer that always uses heated pins to "burn" images onto heat-sensitive paper. This printers are mostly used in calculators and fax machines and although they are inexpensive and print relatively fast, they produce low resolution print jobs.LED printer
Refers to a laser printer, LED printers are non-impact but use a light-emitting diode instead of a laser in the printhead. LED printers were made by Casio and capacity by centering light over the whole length of the drum, hence making zones that are less charged, which pulls in toner. The printer transfers the toner from the drum to the paper and applies intense heat to fuse the toner to the paper.
Benefits of owning an LED printer compared to a conventional laser printer including higher efficiency and reliability. LED printers have no moving parts in the print head, which makes them inherently more stable over time.
